Jed was a 19 year old lad, who was the eldest sibling of 3. He was good to not only his family but also to his friends. He had just started at University when his life was violently taken. It was a cruel blow to all, as Jed had only just mastered his self confidence, and finally was looking forward to a bright future, which everyone who knew him was so excited about. He was walking back from a celebratory night out – I as his mother had given him the money to go out following the completion of his project. We do not live in a rough area, however unbeknown to Jed and his 2 friends, there would be 2 other people at a bus stop, with a very different agenda, and very different back grounds. Like animals they attacked my son as a sport, to demonstrate how "hard" they were. My son went out full of sunshine and came home dying. No mother ever contemplates losing a child, the shock of finding my son dead, and knowing how he spent his last evening, terrorised and in pain, will never leave me.
